Cyan is the coolest family in the library: the color of shallow water, ice, swimming pools and the technical interface of the last two decades. It sits between green and blue, and where you place it decides everything. Pushed toward green it becomes aquatic and fresh; pushed toward blue it becomes clinical and precise.
This family also holds the pale tints that read almost as white with a chill in them, which is why cyan turns up in medical, scientific and data-heavy design. The swatches below run from the lightest tint to the darkest shade, and include the deep teals where cyan becomes something closer to navy. Each has a name, a hex value and RGB codes, with a link through to its tints, shades and contrast readings.
Cyan's position between green and blue is what makes the family so useful: the entries toward the green side read as water, the entries toward the blue side as technology. The pale tints near the top are the ones used as interface surfaces, where a nearly white background with a slight chill reads as more precise than a warm one. The deep teals at the bottom behave almost like navy and carry white text comfortably.
