What we support today, where we fall short, and how to tell us when something does not work for you.
Huevex is a color tool, so accessibility is part of the product rather than a policy attached to it. Every catalog page shows hex, RGB, HSL and contrast values as text, not only as a swatch, so a color can be understood without relying on seeing it accurately. Palettes in the library are published with their contrast readings, and the contrast checker is available without an account.
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA on the core pages: the home page, the library, the catalog detail pages, the tool pages and the account pages. We have not yet completed a formal WCAG audit, so we do not claim conformance at any level. Where we know of a gap, it is listed below rather than left for you to find.
Every interactive element can be reached and operated with a keyboard, and dialogs and modals close with the escape key. Focus is kept visible rather than removed, and a skip link at the top of the page jumps straight to the main content. Decorative imagery is hidden from assistive technology, and the controls that carry meaning have text labels rather than icon-only buttons.
Pages use a single H1 with a logical heading order beneath it, landmarks for the header, navigation, main content and footer, and breadcrumbs on catalog pages. Live results - a converted value, an extracted palette, a contrast ratio - are announced as they change, so a screen reader user is not left waiting for a change they cannot see.
Interface text meets or exceeds the 4.5:1 AA threshold against its background, and large display text meets 3:1 or better. Focus outlines, form borders and interface icons are checked against their adjacent surfaces at 3:1. Where a color is used to carry meaning - a passed contrast test, an error state - it is always paired with text or an icon, so the meaning survives in grayscale and for people with color vision deficiency.
Color itself is never the only carrier of information anywhere in the product. Every swatch is labelled with its values, every status has a word, and the contrast results are written out rather than shown only as green or red.
The interactive color wheel and the live preview panes are pointer-driven; they can be opened and its values read with a keyboard, but fine adjustment with a keyboard alone is slow. Exported image files - palette cards and mockups - are pictures of colors, so their content is not available to a screen reader once exported. A small number of older library pages still carry their color descriptions inside generated imagery rather than as text, and those are being converted.
Motion in the interface follows the operating system's reduced-motion setting, but a few decorative background animations on the marketing pages may still run in browsers that do not report that preference.
If any part of Huevex is difficult or impossible for you to use, please tell us. Write to hello@huevex.com with the page address and what happened; you do not need to know the technical cause. We read accessibility reports as a priority, aim to reply within five working days, and will tell you honestly whether and when a fix is coming.
If you need a palette, gradient or contrast result in a different form - for example as plain text rather than an image - ask and we will send it.
For the WCAG contrast standards themselves, see the color accessibility guide, or test a pair of colors in the contrast checker.
